Believe it or not, this has been sitting on my drive for a long time. Well before the current trend in Terragen/Photoshop pieces started gathering attention, I had this idea... And now, it feels like I'm only working on it now as some kind attention getter.

Oh well, here it is... WIP of course.

Very cool! I love the rings! Perhaps you're gonna pull that T-gen terrain out a bit with levels or another layer? It's gonna be way cool when you finish it up... hell, it's cool now.

This is a nice thought, but there are millions of bugs.

There is a big layer visible at the top of the image, the sky is too noisy, there are loads of multicolored stars under the planet but none above (also they're too large) the lighting is completely off, the mountains are too foggy, the rings on the planet are too thick and also noisy.

I really like your idea but this needs some good work before its done.
